Jacquelyn MOrley

voice Instructor

Jacquelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Music) from the University of Waterloo. She is experienced in a wide range of styles, having studied classical technique with Stephanie Kramer during her undergraduate program, led musical worship in her church for many years, released a pop single in 2021, and currently performs with both the jazz band Pastiche and the professional chamber choir Spiritus Ensemble. Committed to ongoing learning, Jacquelyn continues to refine her own vocal instrument and strengthen her pedagogy under the mentorship of Dr. Elizabeth Lepock.

At the heart of Jacquelyn’s teaching philosophy is a desire to see students fully embrace their unique vocal instrument and the joyful process of discovery. She empowers students to trust themselves and the learning journey, fostering an environment where experimentation and “messiness” are not only welcomed, but celebrated! Lessons with Jacquelyn are holistic, blending practical vocal tools with an understanding of how the voice works to help each student achieve their personal singing goals.

During her final year of undergraduate study, Jacquelyn researched Music Performance Anxiety (MPA) for her Senior Directed Study. Now as a teacher, she is passionate about addressing anxiety in the music-making context. She recognizes that anxiety is a complex, multifaceted experience with real implications for singers. As such, it deserves thoughtful attention in the voice studio!
